J.P. Delaney, Esq. has extensive experience in Alternative Dispute Resolution, New York Labor Law, Automobile and Transportation Law, and Premises Liability. He is also a committed advocate for victims of civil rights violations and served on the defense team in the high-profile case People of the State of New York v. Paul O’Grady.
In addition to his trial and litigation work, Mr. Delaney is an accomplished appellate attorney. He co-authored the successful appeal in Fuller v. Brady and, in 2007, served as co-counsel in DiSilvestro v. Samler, a landmark case of first impression in New York that established important legal precedent regarding the use of paintball guns in favor of plaintiffs. His legal work has been featured in the New York Jury Verdict Reporter and the New York Law Journal.
Mr. Delaney is also an active member of the legal community. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Torts, Insurance, and Compensation Law Section of the New York State Bar Association and is a member and officer of the Brehon Law Society, an Irish-American bar association dedicated to promoting peace and unity in Northern Ireland through legal advocacy. He is also a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.
Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Delaney is deeply committed to community service. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Emerald Isle Immigration Center and the Aisling Irish Community Center, organizations that provide critical support to immigrants, seniors, and underserved populations in New York City and Westchester. He is also a past president and current board member of the Emerald Association of Long Island, a charitable organization that has supported orphans in New York State for more than a century.
Mr. Delaney’s legal insight has been featured on NBC’s Dateline. In 2009, he was named to the “Top 40 Under 40” by the Irish Echo, and in 2020, he was recognized among the Top 100 Irish American Lawyers in the United States.
